I can empathize with you. I still have not isolated the source of my noise on the MW band, but I've received a lot of help from group members. Hopefully, you'll get as much help as I did!!
Have you or you neighbors received a visit from your cable repairman recently? Check the outside connectors and ground for signal leakage.
What about those nasty CFLs? Any of those inside or outside your place?
The individual who mentioned weathered power poles and transformers was spot on. Here in the Clear Lake City area of Houston, TX, we get enough "salt spray" from the Gulf in the ambient atmosphere that above-ground transmission towers/lines corrode much faster!
Anyway, just some suggestions. Hope you solve your problem quickly!
