[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 9-29

Hello All,

There was vibrant propagation to diverse Asian areas this morning,
and several TP signals like 648-VOR, 828-JOBB and 1044-CRI were near their
seasonal best levels. Mainland Chinese signals were also dramatically
improved over yesterday, although conditions were variable, and it was a question
of being on the right frequency at the right time. The (presumed) Chinese
lineup on 909, 918, 927 and 936 kHz all were close to audio around 1325, but
were down in the noise 30 minutes later. 639-CNR1 had good, steady audio
for most of this morning, after having been a non-performer for most of
September. On the other hand, 738-BEL2 in Taiwan was way down in the noise
again for a second day, indicating continuing transmitter issues.
Despite the favorable propagation trend no rare TP's showed up,
although I was lucky to catch the 1044-CRI sign-off music (and Chinese ID) at
the 1400 TOH, during fairly good signals after the Japanese language program.
The strong Korean co-channel on 1044 (presumed KBS1) has been completely
absent from the frequency since both Dennis and I heard it exactly a week
ago (on September 22), leaving the 1044-CRI station alone on the split
channel. Maybe 1044-KBS1 will show up in a Perseus capture from Masset? :-)

The following were heard on a C.Crane SWP model (7.5" loopstick)
inductively coupled to a 9' sided PVC tuned passive loop (in the back yard):

558 JOCR Kobe, Japan Poor-fair music and Japanese speech, 1321
