Right, see your point. Carrier shifts, no beat note w/BFO off unless another station on freq.
What excapes my feeble pea brain is why, w/BFO on, wobbler is less prominent when you tune to center freq rather than slightly off. Wouldn't BFO emphasize carrier swings through center freq as much as it emphasizes it when tuning off freq? Answer probably in front of me, have looked and not seen.
