There are key differences between the UK and the USA which need to be
considered in this debate about domestic vs foreign news.

The UK is part of the European Union and so much which happens within the EU
is "foreign" but of importance to UK residents.

Also "local" in news terms in the UK is typically within a block of perhaps
4 million people. Here in London the "local" TV & radio news covers about 10
million people.

I agree with the review of nightlife in Glasgow. There is one fine example
of church becomes pub I can think of near the botanical gardens.
