Re: [Swprograms] Spoken Word on Satellite

Sirius has two NPR streams titled "NPR Now" and "NPR
Talk". There are some intersections between the two
but each also offer programming independent of one
another. "All Things Considered" and "Morning
Edition", the two NPR flagship news programs, are
excluded from Sirius to offer some protection to NPR
affiliates.

I did ask Sirius about the possibility of carrying
ABC Radio National as a standalone. Their answer
was that they were channel locked at this time and,
besides, did not want to be confronted with numerous
requests for other worthy foreign networks. For
now, they said, WRN filled this particular niche
nicely and reminded me that there are a few hours a
day of ABC content on WRN.
