I just heard a report someplace claiming that XM has recently passed the 4
million subscriber mark. That 0.5% sounds decidedly wrong, unless most of
the people listening to satellite radio are in rural areas and smaller
cities. After all, those 87 markets mentioned above only cover about 2/3
of the US population.
Then again, it could be that all those 4 million subscribers are Canadians
trying to get around the CRTC's asinine policy of trying to tell the
Canadian people what they should want. :-)
