Hmm-- that's weird, Nick. Some pretty strong recordings on 594 and 1593 were made here this morning, and 603 had its fair moments also.
It might be the common winter situation where the more southerly the location, the better the DX (with the "border" somewhere between us-- maybe around Blaine? :-) Often this has happens to me, with Dennis in Kalama reporting a great variety of DX, leaving me wondering how I somehow missed the boat.
The strangest example of this was probably on August 19th this summer, my last day at Cape Perpetua, Oregon (about halfway down the Oregon coast). I remember that you reported one of the worst days of the summer, while Dennis reported some interesting signals. Farther down south, I had S9+ signals from both Asians and DU's. Weird!

Hello All,
Another very generous sunrise enhancement again brought in some
energetic Asian signals this morning, but with variations from
yesterday. During the listening session from 1510-1550 there were
vibrant TP's on both the low and high bands, with 594-JOAK, 648-VOR
and 1593-CNR1 the stars of the morning. Whereas 603-China was
dominating the frequency over HLSA yesterday the situation was
reversed today, and 648-VOR managed one of its best signals of the
season around 1545 (just before collapsing with the rest of the
Asians, as sunrise enhancement fizzled out). 1593-CNR1 had trouble
getting through the Seattle splatter yesterday, but it was king of
the high band this morning-- producing a monster signal at 1525 that
was far and away the strongest that it's ever been received here in
7 years. A full report (with MP3's) will follow later.
