[IRCA] Late December AM loggings

 All times ELT....

570  KSNM  NM Las Cruces - 12/20 2148 - Good in WNAX null with Fox Sports Radio, "New Mexico" and CLs heard in ID.  (RD-NE)

600  KTBB  TX Tyler - 12/30 2050 - Very good in WMT null with ad for Ke Cellars Winery, then "Tyler-Longview" heard in ID.  (RD-NE)

660  KSKY  TX Balch Springs - 12/29 2304 - Weak in tight KCRO null with Purity Products informercial mentioning the importance of magnesium in one's diet.  Couldn't pull an ID out of the terrestrial side, but matching it up with the webstream, which was almost even, clinched it.  (RD-NE)

680  WPTF NC Raleigh - 12/24 0720 - Very good under KFEQ with "680 WPTF" heard during traffic check and weather forecast that mentioned Winston-Salem.  Just my 2nd logging here from Tar Heel State (WCXN-1170 on 2/26/2011 is the other).  (RD-NE)

710  WOR  NY New York - 12/25 0715 - Weak in tight KCMO null with just "WOR" ID heard upon switch to daytime pattern.  (RD-NE)

730  KWRE  MO Warrenton - 12/24 1749 - Very good with ID by male: "Merry Christmas from KWRE", then into an ad string that included one for Dave's Auto Parts in Warrenton.  (RD-NE)

750  KBNN  MO Lebanon - 12/30 1755 - Suddenly in with sign-off: "At this time, KBNN ends another broadcast day...", then a mention of KJEL-FM.  A rather odd reception, sounded almost as if they had been running at reduced power, then suddenly went to the full 5 kw just for the sign-off announcement.  (RD-NE)

  780  KSPI  OK Stillwater -
12/24 1804 - Very good in WBBM null with weather forecast, then sign-off: "KSPI now concludes another broadcast day..."  I clearly heard a mention of "780 watts" in the announcement, although checking through the FCC's website, radio-locator.com, and Barry McLarnon's website turns up a daytime power of 250 watts in all instances.  Either this is a half-hearted attempt at self-promotion, or station management is really naive.  (RD-NE)

840  KWDF  LA Ball - 12/24 1801 - Good under WHAS (and just seconds after KTIC's sign-off) with ID by female: "You're listening to AM 840 KWDF, Ball-Alexandria".  Most likely the unID with brokered REL programming that I had been chasing before 1815 ELT nearly every day throughout the better part of December.  (RD-NE)

910  WFDF  MI Flint - 12/22 2358 - Fair with quick "WFDF" ID during Radio Disney programming.  The other Disney station on 910, KWDZ, remains elusive.  (RD-NE)

940  WFAW  WI Fort Atkinson - 12/25 1701 - Fair under KPSZ with bits and pieces of an ID: "...talk, AM 940 WFAW, Fort Atkinson...."  (RD-NE)

1040  KCBR  CO Monument - 12/13 1850 - Good under WHO with "...This is KCBR..." heard from male talk show host just before he took a call on-air.  (RD-NE)

1090  WFCV  IN Fort Wayne - 12/20 1913 - Good with sign-off, heard mentions of 100.1 FM and Bott Radio Network.  Appears to be using the full 2-hour PSSA.  Only previous time I've heard this station was from Iowa City, IA on 1/5/1998.   (RD-NE)

1140  KHFX  TX Cleburne - 12/20 0009 - Good with regional Mexican pop song by female //KHFX's webstream, which was about 15 seconds behind.  (RD-NE)

1140  KZMQ  WY Greybull - 12/26 1806 - Fair with ID: "You're listening to...KZMQ", then into Marty Robbins' "El Paso" (a.k.a. The Disc Jockey's Best Friend, Circa 1959).  (RD-NE)

1250  KNEU  UT Roosevelt - 12/24 0819 - Briefly atop with promo for softball hitting clinic to be held January 5th at Trinidad State Junior College and sponsored by Union High School.  No CLs heard in the promo, so it was up to Google to help me discover which Union High School was involved.  Thank goodness I found it.  (RD-NE)

1270  WMKT  MI Charlevoix - 12/25 1648 - Excellent with ID: "Where northern Michigan comes to talk...WMKT..."  (RD-NE)

1320  WJAS  PA Pittsburgh - 12/24 0732 - Weak with "1320 WJAS" heard at the end of traffic check.  A regular back in Iowa City, but hard to get in these parts.  (RD-NE)

1330  WRAM  IL Monmouth - 12/30 1839 - Running day power late with "1330 WRAM" in ID, then into Steve Wariner country oldie "Some Fools Never Learn".  Heard "The Voice of Warren County" a few minutes later in a weather forecast.  Confirmed by comparing it to the webstream, which was nearly a minute behind.  (RD-NE)

1370  KWTL  ND Grand Forks - 12/24 0927 - Good with a message from a Fargo-area priest, CLs heard at 0931, then into program "Family Theatre Classic Radio".  (RD-NE)

1390  KJPW  MO Waynesville - 12/21 0859 - Good with ID: "You're listening to the talk of....KJPW, Waynesville".  (RD-NE)

1470  KMNQ  MN Brooklyn Park - 12/19 1856 - Good with ad in Spanish mentioning "South St. Paul" and the Mall of America.  CLs heard in legal ID at 1901.  Tried for the simulcast on 1400, but just couldn't pull it out of the muck.  (RD-NE)

1480  KSDR  SD Watertown - 12/21 0836 - Fair with promo for event sponsored by the Watertown Optimist Club to be held at the Watertown Mall.  CLs noted at 0839.  (RD-NE)

1480  KBXD  TX Dallas - 12/19 0139 - Very good with Overcomer Ministry program.  Counted this after checking the OM website, which showed this as the only 1480 currently carrying the program.  I was inspired to try for KBXD after reading Glenn Hauser's recent reports.  (RD-NE)

1540  KEDA  TX San Antonio - 12/24 2123 - Good in KXEL null with talk in Spanish, music, "San Antonio....Radio Jalapeno" noted in ID.  (RD-NE)

1550  KAPE  MO Cape Girardeau - 12/16 2106 - Good with "Kape Radio 1550 AM & 100.3 FM" ID.  (RD-NE)

1640  KBJA  UT Sandy - 12/24 2118 - LOUD with ID in Spanish that sounded like "Radio Potencia", then an ad for Mexico Tires in Salt Lake City.  Overtaken about 30 seconds later by WKSH.  (RD-NE)
