Re: [IRCA] R-390A

Bob -

Congratulations on your new assets. 390's are phoenixes that will be around
for many decades. As you say, great dx machines, rock stable. At least one
390 and 388 up all times for cruising, others camped on ssb freqs decade in,
decade out.

rice-a-riggies up as well, frg-100 a fine unsung receiver along w/dx-398s
etc. all fun.

390s & 388s specs are conservative, written for 18 yr old tech recruit.
Sensitivity easily tweaked either set to < .15 uv. R-388s variable rejection slot
slices hets on TA's etc.

When messing about w/Brother Sitz' 7030, didn't flirt w/remote. dangerous.

Nope. Spun dial, dinked about w/filters, offset tuning - fantastic receiver.

Have yet to sample R-8A/B. Hear only superlatives from all who have them.
NDR-535d recent eval left me cold, but then again, am part iguana, require lotta
sun to stay warm.

A 7030 is next for the rad room at Villa d'Amplitron.

                                                                         z
