Just a personal story to let you know I have an idea of what you went
through to get the ID.

In 1967 I was in the U.S. navy and we were in the English channel cruising
to Belgium.
I would take my portable radio (covered the AM, FM, and 4 Short wave bands)
up on to the bow and DX. I logged WFAA-820 from my home town of Dallas. Yes
it was weak, lots of fading and QRM from the radar. But I felt really good
as I was really home sick for Texas.
