Re: [IRCA] Good Morning: Oct. 6th

Nigel,

Congratulations on a new country!!!! China on 1206, low.

I was trying to get caught up here after just returning from Grayland
and was going to write suggesting 1206 low as your best bet for
China. The other really strong ones that are also almost as "easy"
as 1206 low are 936//1323 from North China in Russian to the Russian
Far East. The other relatively "easy" country to look for would be
North Korea. There are two rather distinctive ones to try
for.... 657 low is very consistent as to strength and its lowness
and 855 high, also a very consistent performer and consistently on
the high side of 855. The other station that you ought to keep an
eagle eye out for is VOA Thailand on 1575. I swear that they either
upped their power even further over our summer or really improved the
antenna system. For the last couple of years, they have been
relatively easy from here on Orcas Island, but this Fall, they have
quite often rivaled HLAZ 1566 for lighting up the S-meter..... REALLY strong.

By the way, China QSLs through either CNR or CRI addresses in WRTH at
their Beijing office and they are VERY good QSLers, too.

Again, Nigel, thanks for your fine presentation at Seaside.... was
very well done. What the heck else is the Prairie good for, 'cept
cattle, wheat and looooooong beverages!
