** OKLAHOMA. KFOR-TV, channel 4 [RF 27], OKC, is celebrating its 75th
anniversary, originally WKY-TV, and interimly KTVY. A half-hour
special, `Visionaries`, aired June 6 at 2330 UT: rather
self-congratulatory, and I was disappointed it did not include 3-D
Danny and Foreman Scotty! Looking for that show on website unfinds it,
but lots of bits and pieces including many others that did not make it
on that show:
https://kfor.com/kfor-channel-4-archives/
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 28251.6, June 7 at 1501, propagation is very depressed
but detect one JBA CW signal on 10m, the OPOB and OSOB. With such
precise frequencies, one may make a tentative guess per the WGB list:
``28251.5 ED4YAK/B - Henares ESP IN80fk - #0/3 (29 May 2024) Note: ID
+ grid + 8" carr + 10" off
28251.5 KE5JXC/B - Pecan Island LA USA EL39sp - #0 (20 Feb 2024)``
Certainly more likely Louisiana than Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. ``Glenn, regarding your call sign confusion for KTSB 1170
in Tulsa (ex-KVOO/KFAQ): The station has requested, and been granted,
another call change to KOTV effective June 26, 2024.

https://enterpriseefiling.fcc.gov/dataentry/views/public/amDraftCopy?displayType=html&appKey=25076f918fa77ea8018fc0000e7c0f62&id=25076f918fa77ea8018fc0000e7c0f62&goBack=N

Incredible - that`s Griffin`s channel ``6`` TV in Tulsa, KOTV = so
``KOTV Radio`` or ``KOTV-AM`` ?? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WORLD OF RADIO
2246)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, June 6 at 0503 UT, solid reception of KTEN Ada,
10-1, totally overriding local Enid 3ABN satellator K17JN-D - unless
it`s off. Last few days of heavy tropo have had it BAD or breaking up
due to DX QRM. 10-2 is KTEN-CW, 10-3 KTENABC. 10-1 is NBC // KFOR.
Back in the analog days, KTEN was also affiliated with both NBC and
ABC, but with one channel had to pick one or the other at any given
time, especially prime. In minor ``market`` with Ardmore`s KXII-TV
with both CBS and NBC, IRRC.

Most of the other ``open`` channels show BAD signals now: 10, 11, 12,
14, 20, 21, 22, 26, 31, 34, 35, 36. While the only other decoding is
RF28 Ion 44-1 from Tulsa market (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** COLOMBIA [and non]. 28470 USB, June 5 at 2210, Hawaiian station
speaking Spanish, did not get call, but contacting HJ3ESF who went on
to contact several Mainland US stations such as N9UU. Said he was on
an island near or in Colombia, but did not catch that either. QRZ.com
rather only shows mailing address: ``HJ3ESF Colombia flag Colombia,
Munir Saab, 20976 Sheridan St, Fortlauderdale, FL 33332, USA`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. ```Hi Glenn - Rob Wagner (Australia) has also been
doing considerable monitoring of 11935. Ron Howard
https://medxr.blogspot.com/2024/06/11935-khz-strange-goings-on.html

Today's update of his monitoring:

``UPDATE (June 4, 2024 @0409 UTC) --- Today, Radio San'na signed
on again at 04:00:30 UTC with a strong signal plus buzzing. The
buzzing started at EXACTLY the same time as the station. The chances
of jamming starting at exactly the same time as the transmission are
extremely low. This seems to indicate to me that this is, indeed, an
intermittent transmitter fault. 73 and wishing you good, buzz-free
DX!! Rob Wagner VK3BVW````` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed June 5 at 2200, token English from SNR, S9+20/30
direct, also 15520, S9/+10; weaker but audible on 17715 and detectable
on 15390. Both Amy & Marilyn hostessing, preview about Madrid Book
Fair; 2202 right into that skipping any news (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.010, June 5 at 2203, VOT English not off the air,
S9/+10 direct but not enough vs local line noise level. 2228 check
into UTwente when measured, S9+45/50, `The Middle East and Turkey`,
mentioning Iraq; 2234 music; 2238 `Sports Panorama`; 2245 music; 2253
s/off ignoring SW; 2254 six notes of IS before chopped off, no
finesse. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. Finally some 10m beacons, including regular K6FRC on 28300
CW, June 5 at 2159: 28244 CW, EEEEEEE DE WA6APQ/B CA. WGB list:
``28244 WA6APQ/BCN - Long Beach CA USA DM03vu - #0 (06 Feb 2024) Note:
WA6APQ/BCN EEE - Pwr 30w``
QRZ.com: ``WA6APQ USA flag USA, DEWEY MYERS, 2903 Monogram Ave, LONG
BEACH, CA 90815. The WA6APQ BEACON on 28.2440 MHz is located on a 330
foot hill (Signal Hill) in Long Beach, California. Radio is a Motorola
Mitrek consolette base station, 30 watts, antenna is Antron 99
vertical. Code speed is approx. 10 wpm and operates 24/7. Since 1993.
If you would like a beacon QSL card, send SASE or SAE with $ 1.00 (no
IRC's) or email for a printable QSL card. Include the standard (RST)
signal report, UTC time and date. Audio/Video and Youtube recordings
are welcome. Thank you for looking.``

28232+, June 5 at 2206, VVV DE W7SWL/B: WGB list: ``28232.3 W7SWL/B -
Tucson AZ USA DM42ng - #0 (20 Feb 2024) Note: VVV de W7SWL/B`` So a
ham axually own an ``SWL`` call? QRZ.com: ``W7SWL USA flag USA, ROBERT
J COOMLER, 7322 E Calle Los Arboles, Tucson, AZ 85750. The 10M beacon
is back in operation after a long rest. 5 watts into a 1/4 wave
vertical. 28.2323 mHz. Any reports (email or mail) would be
appreciated. Thanks! Would be pleased to exchange cards for QSOs or
beacon reception. I'm old school, no return postage is necessary.``

28224.6, June 5 at 2208, K5GJR/B: WGB list: ``28224.5 K5GJR/B - Orange
Grove TX USA EL17hr - #0 (20 Feb 2024) Note: ID + grid - A-99 vertical
pwr 2.5w`` -- that`s west of Corpus Christi. QRZ.com: ``K5GJR USA flag
USA, Randy L Bates, 505 County Rd 231, Orange Grove, TX 78372. Hello
All, I have a 10mtr beacon that runs 24/7 at 28.224.5, consisting of a
Radio Shack HTX100, putting out 2.5 watts, using a Pico keyer kit I
assembled, into a Antron A-99 vertical antenna at 40'. 73s Randy
k5gjr`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2245 monitoring: confirmed
Wednesday June 5 at 1930 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, into UTwente:
6160.001 S9+10 and 3975.004 S9+5/10.

Also confirmed Wednesday June 5 at 2100 on WBCQ, 7490 -73 Hz =
7489.927, S7/S9 into Maryland SDR. Next:

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated. Thanks this
week to Doug Brown, London, Ont., for a generous check in US$ on a US
bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.

** U S A. 7505, June 5 at 0629, WRNO with gospel huxter in English,
S9+25/35. In nightly bandscans around this hour, first time WRNO heard
in months. Has run late or even all-night in the past, partly in
Chinese. What next? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ALGERIA. 17600, June 4 at 1840, checking Ifrikya FM for a floating
English segment but just music. Inadequate signal from Béchar into
UTwente, and Maryland SDR, so I pick the only Kiwi close to the
boresight, TWR Kenya: shows 17599.902, but I think it`s miscalibrated,
since UTwente puts it on 17599.997 at the least; TWR also gets a
squeal inaudible elsewhere so suspect receiver or Nairobi-area
problem, not transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND [and non]. 28228 CW, June 4 at 2203, only 10m beacon is
JBA, usually fading when it comes to ID after EEEEEEE DE ---, but
finally conclude it`s ZL3TEN, as recently also logged, as per WGB
list:

``28228 ZL3TEN - Rolleston, Christchurch NZL RE66ej - #0 (09 Jan 2024)
Note: ID + grid + eee``
-- and not to be confused partially with another TEN right next to
him:
``28228.3 TG9TEN/B - Guatemala City GTM EK44mv - #0 (16 Mar 2024)
Note: ID + grid - HTX 100 1w into A99 vertical`` Only other sig on 10m
was someone calling CQ in English on 28460 USB, but not back in ~4
minutes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Correxion: I recently referred to 1170 Tulsa as KFAQ, in
connexion with IBOQRM to 1160 KSL. Shows you how much I listen to/care
about that station, format now silly Fox sports. FCC info on call sign
history with Begin Date: KTSB 09/06/2021, KFAQ 05/10/2002, originally
KVOO from 1926. I think Voice of Oklahoma was much neater, stupid of
them to ditch it. KVOO still not assigned to any AM station (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 13650, June 4 at 2053, English about film awards, S9/+20,
soon RRI sounder and s/off this 2030 to WEu/ENAm, next broadcast at
2200 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11935, June 4 at 1650, no horrible noise blob, but
Arabic, VP S6/S7 into UTwente, presumed Rep. of Yemen Radio service
via Riyadh, but with heavy ACI from 11940 CRI English this hour only
by Kashgar, EAST TURKISTAN, std. denunciation, S9+15/20. LSB tuning
helps but still bothering. ACI gone by 1700 but now I hear some CCI
noise under 11935, not the roaring sound when strong and alone. By
1728 Qur`an in clear, S9+15/20; 1820 still clear, S9+10/20 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Monday June 3 at 2200, token English from SNR, VG
direct, and good enough on 15520 while 15390 & 17715 are JBA but
confirmable. Again today, only Marilyn Quintana, guess Amy Egan
vacationing? Nothing like Turkey but MQ does have an accent unlike
Amy. Top news is PM Sánchez facing no-confidence vote. Interview
checked at 2210, something about getting medical/health advice via
audiovisual means. The podcast is titled: ``Innovative
entrepreneurship: AI at the service of society`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, June 3 at 2200, JBA carrier direct, but a few
minutes later nothing at all from VOT English. Nor on accidental
alternates 11795, 9875. Ditto by 2220 check of UTwente. Something`s
erroneous at Emirler. Nothing else listed on 11785 around this hour
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, June 4 at 2157, VOT IS & IDs in English, not off
the air today, S9+10/20 direct but vs S8/S9 high local line noise.
2200 accurate timesignal; s/on mentions `Review of the Turkish Press`
after news [sic] but no specific segments after that besides music.
2233 I`ve switched to UTwente, S9+40/50 as Ms Badax is reading `Weekly
Commentary` as shortly outroed at 2236, music. 2240 `Turkey`s
Geomarked [sic] Products` about some cream from processing milk, no
further into cheese, it seems. 2242 music. 2247 `ABYS`. 2248 music.
2253 s/off with no mention of SW. 2253.5 IS. 2256 restart IS with
German IDs to 2257*. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2245 monitoring: confirmed Monday
June 3 at 1930 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, into UTwente: 3975.003 S9+7
and 6160.001, S9/+10.

Missed checking UT Tuesday June 4 at 0330 on WRMI 7780; anyone hear
it? Sked shows Wavescan but WOR has been showing usually.

Confirmed Tuesday June 4 at 1300 on WRMI 9955, VP S8/S9 direct. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW;

UNIDENTIFIED. 28262 CW, June 3 at 2207, JBA beacon with long dash and
VVV but can`t copy the call thru several repetitions. Another one on
28282. Only other 10m sig is Brazuguese on 28410 USB. Long time since
10m has been replete with beacons, despite Es MUFs allegedly way above
it. Per WGB beacon list, 28262 likely VK2RSY Sydney NSW which I had
logged recently including a 30-second carrier = dash (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
