They stopped doing that sometime in the early 1990s, I think. I have a logging of WTIC from Iowa City on 11/25/1990, and it's a late-afternoon one from just before Dallas sunset time.

It would appear KCRN is finally IDing with the correct call letters, and
not KLIM. Only took them 4 months. I heard the KCRN calls at TOH on
Wednesday morning

That being said, KCRN seems to be plagued with tech issues. Iâve hears them
2 days in a row with no audio at sign on. I caught them another day
signing on early. One day I had them sign on with audio, lose it later in
the day and have a dead carrier for awhile then go completely off the air
