![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Sat Jan 28 at 1515, zero signals from LRA36 into the few SDRs online, 2 in Argentina, 1 in Uruguay and 1 in Brasil. Supposed to be another Saturday special at 1500 & 1900. Manuel Méndez whatsapped them and got reply that they *are* on the air, but still we are hearing nothing; propagation? I doubt it. Then I try the webcast link via Nacional Argentina webpage but no connexion. Then MM gets a reply with a different webcast link which worx for both of us: https://sa.mp3.icecast.magma.edge-access.net/sc_rad35
I start at 1617, talk about Antarctica; 1625 cut to ``RAE Argentina to the World`` multilingual ID reel including English, then about another base, Petrel, but lost contact. 1627 rock song. 1631 ID; 1633 Nicole on phone, apparently operating on ham band. 1635 off air recording of first day on air 20/10/1979. 1638-1650 call from Romina, one of the 4 YLs of the ex-2022 crewe. 1652 acknowledges SW propagation NG today, but got webcast. 1653 scripted piece about ``La Juventud``. 1655 outro credits for ``Uniendo Voces``, into songs. After 1900, still no SW signal into the nearest remotes. 1922 I`m on the webcast again and hear repeats of same thing including the 1979 ID, at 1945, and then Romina, etc. After 2000 keeps playing silently except for an autotimesignal at 2030 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** AUSTRALIA [non]. `Calling All Radio Nutzz`, webcast via Unique Radio, Sat Jan 28 after 1900 with GB and Jen, including Slavic languages introduced by Dr Richard E Wood; and The Two Bobs flying over Switzerland with ham contacts. Before and after 2000 playing classic interval signals, some also with anthems. Then GB plays some ham contacts with him as M1ELK. His true name seems to be a closely guarded secret, but I found a post from M1ELK somewhere as Michael Dawson, and on ham bands his handle is Mike rather than GB. I guess that merely means he`s in Great Britain, part of UKOGBANI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 346 MCW kHz, Jan 28 at 0716 UT, dash and YXL, 500 watt ND beacon at Sioux Lookout, Ontario 382 MCW kHz, Jan 28 at 0712 UT, dash and YPL, 1000 watt NDB at Pickle Lake, Ontario, just enough to overcome my local noise hump. I daresay that beacons like these really put such remote spots on the map (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 28174 CW, Jan 28 at 2232, E E E E E E E E E E VVV DE VE1VDM/B --- and very long pauses between repeats. This explains it on the WI5V 10m beacon reference: ``28.174 VE1DVM C TRURO, NOVA SCOTIA, CA, 1.2 min CW, then QSY to QRSS and WSPR-CW bands in sequence`` QRZ.com: VE1VDM Canada flag Canada Vernon Matheson, 392 Onslow Road, UPPER ONSLOW, NS B6L 5K9, Canada ``Presently I have an AA7DJ 10m beacon on 28.174.0 at 10 watts into a 10 meter dipole at approximately 20' AGL. Grid square is FN85ij for this beacon. 73 de Vernon`` Quick check of other 10m sigs finds that beacon in BC and phonehams in western Washington, some kind of contest. F2 single-hop skip distances at 28+ MHz are such that reception from far corners of the continent are most likely (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Jan 28 at 0658, S9/+10 of dead air, but off the air by next check 0730; anyhow V of Nigeria is not totally dead yet. Last times I heard it were Jan 5/7/9, all with little or no modulation, and well after 0700. Maybe it were pointlessly on more dates before 0700? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [non]. 5960.000+, Jan 28 at 2344, nothing but Chinese into UTwente, so VOT English to N America is again a failure, ceding to EAST TURKISTAN, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 344 MCW kHz, Jan 28 at 0715 UT, JL, 25 watt ND beacon at JopLin MO; tuned to 342 USB, just above 341 EI EnId; seldom heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2175 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday January 28 at 0140 the 0130 on WRMI 5850, S8 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Saturday January 28 at 0500 on WBCQ Radio Angela, 5130, S9/+15 into Virginia SDR, S7/S9 into Maryland SDR but better S/N ratio. Offsets compared: Maryland -7/8 Hz; Virginia - 14/15 Hz. Both cannot be right, so then I compare them on 5000.000 WWV: Maryland -0.2 to +0.3; Virginia, -6.6 to -7.1 Hz so the latter must not be believed. Of course, WWV would not be varying 0.5 Hz: must be SDRs` instability. Also confirmed Saturday January 28 at 1700 on WRN N America webcast. Also confirmed from 2033 UT Saturday January 28 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, VG S9+20 into nearby remote by groundwave. Also confirmed Saturday January 28 at 2230 on WRMI 15770, S9/+5 direct; and once again NOT on scheduled 5850: after ID 2229.5, music plays, apparently fill rather than a specific program; and listed // 7730 is still imaginary. Next: 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0530] 0800 UT Sunday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 0830 UT Sunday Unique R, replay of last week`s WOR 2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0400vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW 0130 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [canceled?] 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated. Thanks this week to Ray Lappeus, Freeland, Michigan, with a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com - in US funds but not necessarily. One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid, OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Preparing for `AAAWWW` on WBCQ at 0100-0200 UT Saturday January 28, from 0056 I check the SW frequencies via Maryland SDR: 6160 -63 Hz = 6159.937; 5130 with IS & ID, +3/5 Hz = 5130.004; 7490 -62 Hz = 7489.938; 3265+ off. This time I stay on 7490- instead of switching to its webcast. 0100 `WTO` theme and Allan`s first words are ``magnificent bastards``, so this is a new live one. 0102 he has to cough, but beautiful Angela is by his side so both in Deland of Fla now. Explains that two weeks ago on a flight back from Maine he caught something, not COVID which has been bothering him ever since, felt like crap. Flight was from Presqu`île to Orlando/Sanford. Pressurization also blew his left ear, deaf there for three days; anyhow explains why no new show last week. Complains about inflation, eggs up from less than a dollar a dozen to $ 10 - really? Blames government in general, 535 members of congress dismissed with an expletive. ``We did not have to have a war in Ukraine`` -- whew: tell that to Putin. 0114 the early history of tape recording, invented by the Nazis. 0123 as trimulcasting asking for reports. No specific datestamp. 0132 should keep SW and not move everything to the cloud. Discussing hamfests missed and to be attended. Call from Mr Transistor. 0138 trimulcasting on 7, 6, 5 MHz. 0141 call from Niagara Falls, Ontario, reception in a hotel. Explains meterbands MUFs. Refers to 5G article by Wilner in Radio World. BCQ website may be hacked, beware. Number of AM stations in US declining but not by as much as you would think: lost 25 last year. 0158 invites Angela to pray but she hands it back to him. Maybe only a semiminute late joining Hal Turner. Again this week never heard a reference to ``our president T****`` during AAAWWW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA 9/kHz split MW carrier search, Jan 28 from 0704, not in the order tuned: 558-2, 774-2, 855-2, 882, 1044, 1521. Also 846 TP Kiritimati. At first 855 had one unusually strong signal, thought I might get some audio, but a few minutes later just two weakers beating. 1521 continues to be mysterious, as nothing but a 5 kW in Spain should be possible this late; no Africans listed. Others also likely Spain, with Canary alternatively on 882 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0019 UT January 29

![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** CUBA. 11760, Jan 27 at 0737, S5/S9 of dead air: this time must be RHC, as France finishes at 0730; only thing listed is CNR1. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KOREA SOUTH. 6155, Jan 27 at 0757, chiming IS interspersed with Japanese announcements, S5/S6; 0800 KBSWR opening theme. Is direct far2 beyond neighborly target (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, Fri Jan 27 at 2300, token English from REE, S9+10/20 into Maryland SDR with news; 2308 interview by Justin Coe about Sécanos Vivos = Drylands Alive, managing olive lands, biodiversity; 2317 comments by Allan? Moore with whom he visited the Martin Wong exhibition last week, about criminality and art, graffiti and gayness. 2322 interview with an opera, zarzuela singer, Cristina --?, and going out at 2325 with her singing Habañera from Carmen: seems like amateur recording, marred by some snags/wows; and she is not finished by the 2330 timesignal and switch to French. I`m simulmonitoring TURKEY, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960.001+, Jan 27 at 2307, VOT S9+25/35 into UTwente, after news, Review of the Turkish Press mainly about Erdogan pissed at Sweden allowing a Dane to burn a Qur`an. By 2311 the usual CCCCCCI has started from East Turkistan, standard denunciation, but quite underweaker. 2313 Weekly Commentary on the same subject, by a professor, who says this went beyond freedom of expression which is not unlimited if it ``hurts`` someone. 2320 multilingual filler ID reel; this time I note Persian, ``inja ---``, and see that is not a VOT SW language per WRTH. 2326 Feeling Supreme/The Healing Spring repeat about herbal remedies for constipation in children. How many Americans will have heard and followed such advice?? 2353 recheck going from s/off schedule to IS. 2356 restarts IS now interspersed with German IDs; 2300 timesignals mixing with CCCCCCI and s/on German with a timecheck for 1830. German still going at 0023, but off by 0044 with Urumqi uncovered. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Until 2330 I was simulmonitoring SPAIN, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K [non]. Jan 26 was reportedly the final day for BBC in Arabic after 85 years! Since Ivo posted the schedule, I`m checking UTwente on 9585 from 1657 Jan 27. ``U.K.(non) BBC's Arabic service bids farewell to the world after 85 years of broadcasting. The current winter schedule 0300-0400 on 7425 WOF 250 kW / 140 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 0300-0500 on 9840vDHA 250 kW / 255 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 0500-0600 on 15335vDHA 250 kW / 255 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 0600-0700 on 17760vDHA 250 kW / 255 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 1700-1900 on 9585vDHA 250 kW / 255 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 1900-2000 on 6150vDHA 250 kW / 255 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 2000-2100 on 6150 SLA 125 kW / 260 deg to CEAf Arabic B-22 Also on MW 639 CYP and 720 CYP 0300-0700 and 1700-2100 UT.`` No signal on 9585 until at 1700, ``WorldService.com``, S9+10/20 but carrier cuts off and on again, no modulation in Arabic or English, finally turned off at 1702.5*. I guess the UAE operators were not quite sure whether there would still be any Arabic feed to emit; still off past 1716. It might be interesting to check starts of the other formerly scheduled broadcasts: 6150 at 1855-1902: nothing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Some ND beacons JBA now with lower noise level, no lightning anywhere in North America or vicinity per Blitzortung: 329 MCW kHz, Jan 27 at 0725 UT, PMV, 25-watt ND beacon at Plattsmouth NE. 347 MCW kHz, Jan 27 at 0724 UT, AFK, 25-watt NDB at Nebraska City NE. 356 MCW kHz, Jan 27 at 0723 UT, ODX, 25-watt NDB at Ord, Nebraska: probably my most productive beacon state beyond OK even tho it`s second-adjacent (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2175 monitoring: Confirmed first SWBC, UT Friday January 27 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, good S8/S9 into Maurice LA SDR. Preceded by Firedragon-like music at 0329, no ID break; and still starts with noise blast over first 14 seconds, not moved to start 15 seconds later! Time for the Romania item about folk music was upcut: should be 0230. Not confirmed Friday January 27 at 1530 on WRMI 9955, since that frequency is already off when first checked at 1520; unlike last Friday when it permanested past 1600. However still on webcast at 1530, checked at 1556. Again followed at 1559 by Firedragon-like music; 1600 into Deutsche Welle, Africa Link on WRN. Why is this in Bonn rather than Köln or Berlin? System B sked still claims 9955 does not change to Internet only until 1630! I recheck the stream at 1630 when `Let the Bible Speak` starts as sked on Fridays only. Also confirmed Friday January 27 at 2130 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, S7/S8 vs HNL into Parma SDR; when Noale accessed at 2144, VG S9+15/20. Next: 0130 UT Saturday WRMI 5850 to NW 0500 UT Saturday WBCQ Radio Angela 5130v to WSW 2030vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2230 UT Saturday WRMI 15770 to NE 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0400vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0415; as late as 0530] 0800 UT Sunday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0400vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW 0130 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035 USB [low power] 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [canceled?] 2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated. Also JJBBA carrier on 846, TP Kiritimati. Blitzortung shows none anywhere in or around North America now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0052 UT January 28

Okay, I learned that it's happening to be difficult to put the signal into Europe and North America, as they are only 500 W power, despite the higher level of solar activity; but then, they there are. 73 de Horacio Nigro, Uruguay, CX3BZ, Jan 24`` Manuel Méndez, Spain: ``Another WhatsApp received right now, clarification of the previous one from the station: "Este programa es solamente especial de verano, se emite los sábados a las 12 horas de Argentina, con repetición a las 16 horas. Now on manager`s corner of website as of Jan 24: ``Presenting Evening Classics with Curt Timmons Classical KUCO is excited to announce Evening Classics with Curt Timmons, a two-hour, locally produced program presenting extended selections from 10 p.m. to midnight each weeknight beginning Monday, Jan. 23. In addition to his noon to 3 p.m. weekday hosting, our very own Curt Timmons is graciously paving the way to offer beautiful, complete pieces of music in a thematic and thoughtful presentation blended with insightful commentary. “I am excited to produce Evening Classics for our late-evening listeners. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy favorite masterworks and play some more unusual offerings from our KUCO library and my personal collection,” Timmons said. KUCO’s presentation of well-known orchestras will begin at 7 p.m., New York Symphony Mondays; Chicago Symphony Tuesdays; The WFMT Orchestra Series Wednesdays; Performance Oklahoma with Kimberly Powell Thursdays; and, American Public Media’s SymphonyCast Fridays. Performance Oklahoma, with Kimberly Powell, has moved Wednesday evenings to Thursdays providing listeners, and even performers, who attend church and choir the ability to enjoy the beautiful, local performances numerous individuals work so hard to make happen. Performance Oklahoma continues to encore at 8 a.m., Saturdays. Following the orchestral programs at 9 p.m., will be The Sound of 13 Mondays; Gameplay Tuesdays; With Heart and Voice Wednesdays; Feminine Fusion Thursdays; and, Hearts of Space Fridays. According to Timmons, “Evening Classics will feature historic and rarely heard recorded performances, which is a passion of mine as a recording collector and musician. I hope our listeners will find some old, as well as new favorites.” Evening Classics with Curt Timmons aligns with the Classical KUCO mission to present locally produced, long-format music to our listening members as we strive to advance the appreciation of classical music as Oklahoma’s Voice for the Performing Arts. Classical KUCO is community-supported outreach of the University of Central Oklahoma and can be heard on 90.1FM/HD1 throughout central Oklahoma, 91.9FM/HD1 in McAlester, 95.9FM in Woodward and streamed on kucofm.com, iHeart, Amazon Alexa devices, Bose’s SoundTouch network, and mobile devices with the free Classical KUCO app at GooglePlay and the Apple App Store.`` Skedgrid has been updated as above, all times CST = UT -6: https://www.kucofm.com/programs/program-schedule-grid/ Still unaccounted for are `module` programs, notably StarDate, so I ask GM Jeff Hagy: he says it`s straight-up noon M-F; and a brand-new website is about ready to launch next week: http://www.kucofm.com Meanwhile I have been seeking StarDate elsewhere: Features On Texarkana Public Radio: own website claims: Stardate - Daily 11:04 A.M. & 7:00 P.M. http://ktxkweb.texarkanacollege.edu:8000/listen.pls but FAILS to appear at or around 7 pm = 0100 UT Jan 24. There are also various audio artefacts within 10 kHz of 7520 which is typical of TOMBS, despite the rather lo-fi audio if tuned to center frequency and avoiding the extended sidebands. WWCR et al. ought to filter out that feed! #4 is on 90-degree rhombic, but I bet it put as much signal off the back thisaway.
