Re: [IRCA] Saved Perseus Files

Thanks once again to those providing input to my original inquiry.

What error message do you get when you try to
access a file on the desktop?

no error message...if I engage 'wav', then 'file' on Perseus, it opens up my Documents folder where I need to choose a file. If I chose a file that is on the desktop instead, it opens up in Windows audio player and not Perseus.

Maybe try changing your account to an
Administrator account and see if that helps?

yes...I will look at that today

(1) Re the desktop problem, what does "recognize the Perseus files" mean exactly?

Does this mean the Perseus SW can not see the file in the desktop dorectory, or that it can see and load the file but won't play it as it doesn't recognize it as a Perseus file?

see above .. Perseus will only play (recognize) files if I drag them into the Documents folder

(2) I think your problem is that the Windows file dialog (responsible for presenting the list of files / directories) doesn't believe you have privileges to access to the desktop files. The quickest thing to try is to right click on the Perseus icon or on perseus.exe and select the "run as administrator" choice and repeat the test. If that doesn't work, can you do the procedure below?

OK...not sure I want to get involved in the second procedure though .. it's not really 'broke' just a quirk, and I don't want to really mess things up which I am fully-capable of doing!

Steve / tnx!
