You don't even have to go to all of that trouble. You can get logo info off the websites often. I have done that in the past.

(I believe it was WGIL in Illinois)... One little trick of the trade to try in verifying stations that don't have qsl cards, is to write to the sales department and get a media kit containing cover letter on station letterhead, take that cover letter down to a good copy center with color copiers (if there is color in the station logo). Cover up all of the writing with thick white paper (leaving the logo, address, etc...at the top exposed to be copied. (8-1/2 x 11" worth will suffice). You should end up with one (or more) nice blank pieces of station letterhead. Then use either your computer & printer, or typewriter for those who still own one, and write up a nice verification letter on the sheet (leaving a space at the bottom for the good ol' boy to sign his John Hancock). Always provide a legal siz!

(If the media kit you received was a small one and came in a legal sized envelope, you can use that to keep your verie in---or some folks like to keep veries in presentation portfolio books). Downside: these days some stations may no longer even mail out sales kits, but rather refer you to all their information online. It's always worth the extra effort to get that prized verification for your catch. ---Mike Sanburn
