A bit better this morning, but still a ways to go. Conditions
favored the upper band especially as sunrise approached (enhancement
around 1530UT), and lots of splatter made things more difficult than
I would have liked. And of course, most signals were erratic,
barring 1557, 1566 and 1593 which would stick around for more than 20
seconds at a time.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
1566 HLAZ man in CC talking o/mx 1534UT
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1557 CC sounding pop mx at 1532UT
1593 CNR1 man and woman in CC //6125 at 1530UT, one low and one high
longer pip on the half hour
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be
understood by a native speaker:
774 JOUB man in JJ at 1431UT
1116 unID. CC talk by man a couple of times at this level after
1530UT; couldn't find a CNR2 // on short notice.
1575 VoA SE Asian talk by woman, then man 1459UT. Faded by hour.
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
1278 man talking, but very murky and unreadable, at 1457UT
1314 JOUF? man and woman chattering, JJ inflection 1537UT
1476 instrumental mx at 1458UT
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
747 828 891 1044 1098 1188 1206 1287 1323 1359 1494 1503
best wishes,
Nick
