I DXed from Poipu Beach about 23 years ago for a week. 1224 Kwajalein AFN was often good. The huge Mt Waialeale (maybe the rainiest place on earth) blocked signals from the north very effectively. One night I drove around to the north coast to hear a few Alaskans on the car radio. Furthest catch from Poipu Beach was Globo 1220 from Rio. All this using an old Icom R70 with a Radio West ferrite loop. 73 KAZ
