Hi, Neil. Nothing fancy like that now, and the results are very modest compared to what you've heard. I don't think I'd even dream about South America, but I didn't really aim for that area of the world. Makes sense about the north being blocked. Very little evidence of much activity from the far north anyway. With the way that the TSA has cracked down on virtually anything fun to bring along, I've given up on bringing serious DX gear on holidays, so the ULR fits the bill nicely. I suppose it would've been fun to get some Perseus recordings! I do recall the fun I had in years past with a Kenwood R5000 and several hundred feet of wire in Maui! Cheers,......Walt
