Re: [IRCA] [am] Remote SDR operation

Craig,

Here is the page on their website that describes the software supplement. They do this with quite a few of their receivers. From what I've heard, the whole thing is essentially transparent to the user.... you don't know that the 313e is not sitting under the desk as usual. As far as being a somewhat outdated design, true, its five years old or so.... but except for RF recording, I like the GUI and receiver capabilities (for active DXing) better than anything else that I've ever used or seen... I really don't need to do anything that it won't do.... so, I don't really care how old it is, personally.

Here is the part of the web page that describes remote operation:

I had looked at that, but it's a somewhat dated design. Things move very
rapidly these days. If someone who has used it remotely has good words to
say about that, then it's a consideration. Do the docs say what's needed
for remote use? Does the remote use also pipe the audio back? Ideally it
would work the same by remote as locally.

Meanwhile, I should send a note to both RFSpace and Moetronics requesting an
ethernet port. One that can work either on a local network or by the
internet. I would think that would increase the potential user base by a
fair amount, so economically it would make sense.
