It could be without talk, many AM stations would not exist today. But at
5,000 AM stations in the U.S., I think that is a bit more than the
market can support, add another 6,000 FMs, that is quite a load. 
There just is not enough advertising to support all of this. Like in my
own county, with 36K less that 50K in the whole area, having 11 stations
is a bit much.
