Re: [IRCA] OT: Electricity as a form of dementia

CT -

Why voltage choices? Also:

Files below larded w/interior/exterior power plant pix, notes & power company
poopsheets.

Boston's best: ancient T-power plant, 50 Hz, black rivet iron stacks,
vertical turbines.

Gothic interiors of 1930's Basilicas of Power, the best. English Generating
Plant, New Haven, CT. & RI South St.: Dark, brooding, ominous - makes one
feel alive.

Startup-instructions - light reading for beach - old Narragansett Electric
Manchester St. Station - 3 x 50 MW. Boilers 6, 7 & 12 run on oil or gas - you
choose.

Shot of "Mighty Hellgate", NYC, from moving Amtrack, prior to stack
demolition. A treasure.

Call me unusual, as 4/5 yr. old brat, fave enchanting lullabye: soft 400
Hz-ish whine. Turned out to be Manchester St, Boiler # 12, I.D. Fans. I like
tracking things down....it's fun.

Most kids demanded Mattel toys, etc. I came cheap. Old oil burners, wires,
tubes, provided exquisite pleasure. No outing complete w/o seeing fiery asphalt
batcher by harbor & Cohen Scrapyard. Country rides: ANG 102nd AC&W Sqdn., New
London Ave., Cranston, FPS-3.

Salvation Army onna Friday afternoon? Heaven on earth. Main branch, near
Seekonk River, had backroom 'as-is/fix it youself' dept. Radios, tv's, tubes,
ethereal delights.....

Weepy with nostalgia...must play fave LP: "Ljungstrom & the Preheaters'
Greatest Hits".

                                                                   Dr.
