[IRCA] Bought an iRiver IFP-795T (NOT!)

Went to buy an iRiver IFP-795T from Sales Store. Few days later, got e-mail
that it was sold out!

Robin poop!

Looking at accessories at Cyberguys.com that interface an audio device
(radio, cassette recorder, or TV) with the sound card of a PC. Fine for
converting cassette output to files,
but not finding any stand-alone MD3 recorders at a reasonable cost at
Circuit City or the like.

Voice recorders are not attractive. But if I can position and attach a
small speaker over the microphone, a voice recorder may do.

Apparently, some of our members are having success at setting a MD3 voice
recorder next to a speaker, but I would use some sort of gasket to attach
the speaker to the recorder and seal it off from external noise.

I looked for new cassettes without immediate success. I see where this is
going. Soon cassette recorders will become antiques.

My present recorder is a JC Penney MCS 3543 stereo cassette tape deck that
I bought for (I think) $100 from Tim O'Hare (REMEMBER HIM?) in 1985. He
bought it in 1983. That makes it at least 24 years old! And it still works
well. But comes time for new cassettes, oh-oh.

Let's hear again from those who use voice recorders. Prices? Results?
