Nice to have you along for the ride, Chris. It'll be nice to see what you
hear out there.

Hello,
I've been lurking here for a few days. Seems like a fairly serious
business, this MWDXing. I take it one must be morning person in a big
way to hear some of these interesting signals. Before I begin changing
my sleep patterns, I wonder what I might reasonably expect given my
location and setup? I'm located near Edmonton, AB, in Western Canada. My
radio is a Drake SPR-4, and my antenna a single homebrew K9AY loop,
roughly oriented ESE/WNW. I do OK on the tropical bands with this, with
Africans and South Pacific. As far as MW, I haven't heard too many
exotic things. It would be fun to log some Alaskans or Hawaii. Anyone in
these parts have some tips - things to hunt for? Seems like the TPs are
predictably happening way on the West Coast.
Cheers,
Chris VE6RDC
