Sure interesting to read your comments, Steve.  Up here in Victoria, BC, I monitored from 11:57 to 14:05 UTC (4:57 AM local to 7:05).  Now I slept in yesterday morning, so can't compare to it, but I was sure very impressed with the results.  An exclusively Asian opening with 38 audios, many at a very nice level.  The only DU was prob 4QR on 612 at 1400.  Otherwise the Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese(especially) were booming in.  Here's my list:
153, 234, and 279 ...Russian LW in audio.  Mongolia a moderate het on 164.  ICW Alaskan beacon on 524, and SQM on 529 (surprisingly weaker than ICW), 531 NHK1, 567 NHK1, 594 NHK1...very nice, 639 CNR1 //5030, 666 NHK1, 738, 747 NHK2, 756 CNR1 cochannel NHK1, 774 NHK2, 828 NHK2, 855 North Korea with good audio // 3320, 873 NHK2, 936....sounds Chinese with a nice signal at 13:13, probably cochannel with something else, 945, 954 possible JOKR, 963 very good CRI in Russian, 972 great reception of KBS1 at 1335, 981 Very strong CNR1 at 1310, 1008 sounds Chinese, but not CNR1 at 1320, 1017  Oriental station?who, 1026, 1089 oriental, 1098  a jumble at 1330, 1125, 1134, 1143, 1179 JOOR and 1 other at 1334, 1224, 1242 strong JOLF, 1287 JOHR, 1305 prob Korean, 1323 CRI Russian, 1332 JOSF presumed, 1386 very weak at 13:49 I think is NHK2, 1503, 1557, 1566, 1575.  

Overall a great morning, that lasted quite some time!  Best of the season for me thus far (and last night was remarkable with TAs too)........Walt Salmaniw, Victoria,BC
