Colin didn't mention that I was using a Flag antenna which knocks 
down a lot of the domestic splatter, while his (and my) ALA 100, 
though fine antennas, hear all the splatter really 
well.    Magnetic?  Being loops, I suppose there is a magnetic aspect 
to it all.  (does being loopy mean one has a magnetic personality?  Sorry)
