I remember reading the reports from DXers back in the 60s on the
loggings of TA's. They were always better from So Cal and more of them.
The angle of the signal probably is not quite as polar either. Back in
the early 80s when I was listening to Algeria 891 on the car radio, I
about was floored. That is unhead of. I raced home and heard all sorts
of stuff. Germany on 756 and 1017 were armchair copy. I called Dave
Williams and he had them on his SPR4, the one I have now. I will always
remember those few nights. I have never heard that again with such a
signal.
