I asked the same question of Jay.

"The new model, in addition to adding the LED power Indicator, uses one standardized base for all loop heads, whereas in the older models you needed a different base for each band...they were tuned differently.
 
He has also changed some components to improve performance and has slightly increased the feedback to improve gain a bit as well, although I would suspect overall operation to be similar."

Looks like Gerry is going to take the plunge into SW loops and is going with one standard base.
