Well put Les. I've had similar thoughts. I'm not sure "malfunctioning" is the right work, but "cheating" is certainly not the right one to use. Bruce Les Rayburn wrote: I'd like to ban the term "cheating" from the slang of DX'ers. It presumes guilt, as in, this station is broadcasting at their day time power in order to increase their listening audience and make more money. I prefer the term "malfunctioning" which is a better way to describe a broken or misprogrammed automation system, human error, or other unintentional happenings. Obviously some stations do "cheat", but I'd rather give our friends in broadcasting the benefit of the doubt. That sound you hear is your broadcast test coordinator getting down from his soapbox. :) 73 and Good DX, Les Rayburn, director High Noon Film 100 Centerview Drive Suite 111 Birmingham, AL 35216 205.824.8930 205.824.8960 Fax 205.253.4867 Cell http://www.highnoonfilm.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "texas4421" <texas4421@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "IRCA" <IRCA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <ABDX@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, January 07, 2006 9:44 PM Subject: [IRCA] WBCA-1110 Cheating1110 WBCA AL BAY MINETTE 2230 07/01/06 AD FOR WALLY'S BBQ "WHEN IN YOUR IN LOWER ALABAMA, STOP BY WALLY'S, RIGHT NEXT TO THE POLICE STATION, ON HIGHWAY 98." I believe this station is cheating, as they are covering WBT, Charlotte, NC. Are listed as a day-timer. They have some type of talk show on and are talking how the media dropped the ball on the West Virginia miners story. Lee Freshwater's list shows they are southern gospel, so could also be a format change.
