Depends on the company. Clear Channel spends a lot of money upgrading the
AM facilities they acquire, which have often been the victims of decades of
deferred maintenance.
In the case of WNCT (owned by a small group called Beasley), whatever
problems now exist will probably go away when they finish rebuilding the
antenna array. They're replacing the six towers that the station used with
five new ones and going from 50/10 kW to 50/50.
