[IRCA] Alberta TPs for 23 October 2016

  An interesting morning.  At first the 'lost continent' of Asia 
carried on from yesterday, doing well at 1200, but by 1300 it had become 
lost once more, as signals across the band died.   A few signals 
returned by 1330, but they were all DU (with the exception of probable 
VOA Thailand), with Newstalk ZB in quite nicely for 15 minutes or so.


756	unID	Traces of discussion at 1350.  Almost certainly New Zealand.

567	JOIK	Sapporo, JAPAN	Traces of talk in Japanese at 1156

594    JOAK    Tokyo, JAPAN    Woman in Japanese at 1157.

639	unID	Faint traces of talk at 1156, then music

693    JOAB    Tokyo, JAPAN    Man in Japanese at 1158.

702	NHK2 synchros	 Times pips at 1200, then bits of talk after that.

747	JOIB    Sapporo, JAPAN   Man in Japanese at 1159, brief music, time 
pips.

756	unID	Traces of discussion at 1350

774    JOUB    Akita, JAPAN    Time pips at 1200, then talk by a woman, 
//747.

828	JOBB	Osaka, JAPAN	Time pips, woman in Japanese at 1300, //774

882	unID	Very faint traces of talk and music around 1352.  due to signal 
fluctuations couldn't confirm exact // with 882 but music seemed the 
same, so likely Star from New Zealand.

909	unID  	Weak with music at 1351.  Star?

972	HLCA	Danjing, S.KOREA    Poor, with man speaking in Korean at 1156

1035	Newstalk ZB	Wellington, NEW ZEALAND	  Head and shoulders above any 
other overseas station at 1348 with time check as "12 to 3", and then 
commercials.

1566	HLAZ	Cheju, KOREA	Hymn in Japanese at 1159.

1575	unID	Weak, with woman talking at 1345.  Likely VOA, but too weak to 
be certain.

I enjoy the clips Gary posts, but I never seem to have time to do 
anything similar.  Today's an exception, so here's a link to a brief 
recording of NewsTalk ZB.   Not much by coastal standards, but it's 
about as good as New Zealand gets here.
