[IRCA] Proving that I have more time than brains.....

Once I made the comment about wanting to hear all of the stations in California, I decided to look at my logs in detail.  Heavily anal analysis (is that where they get the word?) follows:

* According to my records, there has been a total of 398 licensed AM stations in California since someone flipped the switch the first time.  Most of these stations have changed call letters, frequency, and city of license at least once.

* Of these 398 stations, 118 were off the air for good before I ever started listening, leaving a possible 280 stations that could have been logged.

* Of these 280, 6 may have never officially went on the air.  These stations are as follows.  If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.
     * KDAD - 800 - Weed
     * KHUM - 1580 - Santa Rosa
     * KJRC - 1090 - South Lake Tahoe
     * KMRE - 1580 - Anderson
     * KPTO - 890 - Citrus Heights
     * KKSA - 1030 - Folsom

* That leaves 274, of which 10 stations have went permanently dark since I started listening, putting a damper on my future chances to listen for them.  They are:
     * KOLI - 1470 - Coalinga
     * KIIS - 850 - Thousand Oaks
     * KHTZ - 1400 - Truckee
     * KIFX - 1280 - Fortuna
     * KNYO - 600 - Independence
     * KLOM - 1330 - Lompoc
     * KMSL - 1250 - Ukiah
     * KMYX - 1310 - Taft
     * KJAZ - 1590 - McFarland
     * KHPY - 1530 - Moreno Valley

* That leaves 264, of which 9 are still unheard BUT still broadcasting.  They are:
     * KCNR - 1450 - Shasta
     * KECR - 910 - El Cajon
     * KDAC - 1230 - Fort Bragg
     * KTAP - 1600 - Santa Maria
     * KBOV - 1230 - Bishop
     * KCEO - 1000 - Vista
     * KWRN - 1550 - Apple Valley
     * KKSM - 1320 - Oceanside
     * KQAB - 1140 - Lake Isabella

Outside of that, I've got it handled.  Now that I can put my mind to rest for the night, I will go outside, smoke and see if I can sneak up on any of the neighborhood cats.
