** ASCENSION. 21630, Tue July 23 at 1424, JBA carrier is the OSOB and thus the SSOB. Per EiBi & Aoki, it`s BBC Hausa at 1400-1430 M-F, but 1100-1430 Sat - and never on Sunday? Here we are near the solar cycle peak and 13m band is drastically underused. Not a single transmission to or from North America! It should work at least over day paths from European or African afternoons into our mornings. Only SPAIN is interested in such a service, but 16mb suffices when it`s not missing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Also confirmed Tuesday July 23 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia, 1322.994, S7/S9 into Cavriglia SDR, since Noale & Parma are offline, and the three in Trieste are not getting it at all. There is lite musical CCI, Romania? NWlist shows 15 kW there finishing at 2000, but 50 kW in Azeri from Iran until 2020*. Also audible into UTwente, S9 but noisy reading 1322.991. ``Listener report. WOR on 1323 kHz AM (via Italy) --- Hello Glenn, I can confirm that you are now on 1323 kHz from Nexus International Broadcasting Corp., medium wave, transmitting from Milano Italy. Your WOR program was heard in the Township of Owingen, Lake Constance County, Southern Germany on a Sangean DT200X with internal ferrite rod antenna (no external antenna!), with SINPO 55444, on July 23 2024 at 2007 UTC. I have sent the station a QSL request (online) but just wanted to let you know that your program is getting out on that QRG. Attached is a short audio snippet for you. Hope you enjoy it and great to hear your voice on the AM band. Coincidentally I listened to your MP3 edition earlier today on a bike ride. Glenn Hauser is there on Nexus while the rest of Europe is shutting down AM for good. Not sure how you made that happen but this is awesome. Well done! 73! No ID but carrier cut for a few sex before 0700 resuming with Polish Radio External Service in English via WRN. Coincidental, or cut for a reason to change antenna or transmitter? Seems the same S9+20 afterwards and undermodulated. A few seasons ago, WRMI had different day and night frequencies for some transmitters, but skeds no longer show any of that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1650+/-, July 23 at 0652 UT, continuous tone from KSVE El Paso TX, as previously approx. 420 Hz - shouldn`t it be 440? Eric Fetters-Walp, Jul 20 #41975, IRCA iog: ``I get out of the habit of DXing on MW in the peak of summer, but after following this discussion on the board and hearing Glenn talk about it in this week's episode of "World of Radio," I turned on my receiver at 0605 UTC/11:05 p.m. PDT and heard the tone immediately upon tuning in 1650 kHz. In fact, it was the only thing I could really hear as neither KBJD and KFOX were dominating the frequency. I also checked the SDRs in Lubbock, Texas, and Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and found the tone stronger but matching exactly what I heard. It was really loud via the Lubbock SDR! Here north of Seattle, the tone was audible for the entire time I listened until 0630 UTC. It faded in and out and "wobbled" somewhat, but it never fully disappeared here. Assuming this is indeed KSVE, I'm about 1,388 miles from that station's transmitter. Eric Fetters-Walp, Lake Stevens, Washington`` Rick Barton, WOR iog: ``[NOTE]: 1650, We have been hearing this loud hum-whine here for months, never got around to asking if other DXers had an opinion on it, when we finally saw it mentioned recently by Glenn Hauser. Here, always very strong when loops are oriented for E/W reception. Sometimes can't be nulled out, and can still be audible (albeit less signal strength) with loops oriented N/S. Tuned in again, just to verify, at 4:30A local {1130 UT} on 4 band battery portable and internal loop bar. -- Barton-AZ`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2323 UT July 23 ** VANUATU. 9960, July 23 at 0658, tune-in just in time to hear R.
