I am not sure how long this has been on the schedule -- but the past
two nights I found Deutsche Welle's "Newslink Plus" -- the one-hour
USA-targeted live edition -- at 9 PM ET (0100 UTC) on the PRI World
channel. PRI's online schedule shows "World Cafe" at that hour.
Amusingly, the newscast that's inserted from :01 to :06 isn't DW's but
the BBC newscast.
So, from 6 PM ET to 10 PM ET you have a decent mix of world
perspectives without changing the channel:
6 PM ET / 2200 UTC: "Worldview" from WBEZ / Chicago
7 PM ET / 2300 UTC: CBC's "As It Happens"
8 PM ET / 0000 UTC: PRI's "The World" -- sort of like the BBC's "The
World Today" but with more eclectic, magazine-style story selection.
9 PM ET / 0100 UTC: DW's "Newslink Plus"
