like to come under fire. In the final of our five part series, ‘HIV 
Today’, we learn that an estimated 40 million people around the world 
are now living with H-I-V and more than three million have died from 
the disease in the last year alone. And what’s it like being a vet in 
outback Australia? One such hard working soul reveals that it’s hot and 
thirsty work which requires her to travel many hundreds of kilometres 
to visit her patients, all those animals great and small.

speaks about moral hazard in the light of the Iraq war (which he

	THE SPIRIT OF THINGS - an exploration contemporary values and beliefs 
as expressed through ritual, art, music, and sacred texts with Rachael

York Jew, and an Iranian Muslim collaborated on one work of art to see 
how a conversation between them would look on a large piece of cloth. 
Commissioned by the Jewish Museum of Australia, Irene Barberis, Jane 
Logemann and Parastou Forouhar took a year to complete their work and 
they speak to Rachael Kohn at the Melbourne launch of the Exhibition

‘Sustainable Cities – Challenges for the Asia Pacific’ explores some of 
the major issues for cities in becoming more liveable and sustainable. 
These range from urban sprawl to waste management, pollution to 
poverty, to strategies that deal with transport and limited resources 
like water. The series includes four case studies, Singapore, Bangkok, 
Melbourne and Beijing, and finishes with post-graduate students from 
the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Architecture discussing some 
of the issues addressed in the six programs. Programs 1 and 2 broadly 
canvass the challenges across the region. [T;%]

	THE MUSIC SHOW - - a mix of music, interviews and information about
the latest developments in music, hosted by composer Andrew Ford.

artistic director of the Queensland Music Festival, which is about to 
launch its 2005 program, and the incoming artistic director of the 
Brisbane Festival. He's also a distinguished performer in opera and 
music theatre. He's done some very extreme roles from Don Giovanni to 
Rosa in the opera by Peter Greenaway and Louis Andriessen and 
Frankenstein's monster in Richard Meale's Mer de Glace. Not to mention 
other edgy roles like Sweeney Todd and Casanova. Andrew will also talk 
to Colin Symes the author of a recent book called "Setting the Record 
Straight - A Material History of Classical Recording", a very 
interesting survey of 100 years of putting classical music on disc. And 
one of the great stars of classical recording the Korean coloratura

Australian POW. Then at 5.30am we broadcast the Dawn Service live from

Beryl Beaurepaire". Peter Thompson talks with pioneer Australian

Olympic Tyre dynasty in 1947. She was, for a time, arguably the most
