James, I use the Alpha-Delta Model Delta-4 coax switch.  The only drawback
for me is that I have to add SO-239 to BNC adapters, as all my coax is BNC.
Thankfully, over the years, I accumulated plenty of them.  It's nice, very
sturdy, and can be "turned off", by the center click.  It claims to be a
surge protector as well, although I'm not sure how much I'd trust it for
those purposes.  I've had many others over the years.  Seems like at
Hamfests, it's always easy to find the rotary variety (they're circular)
with, I believe 5 or 6 inputs available.  Building your own can be done, but
seems like a lot of trouble when there are so many commercially available,
and on the used market.  Here's the one I'm talking about:
