[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-1

Thanks to Nigel, Colin and Walt for their earlier reports. The situation here was similar to what Nigel and Walt reported, as Asian audio was primarily limited to the usual Japanese and Korean big guns. A few Chinese stations (on 1044, 1206, 1323 and 1593) made halfhearted appearances, but theyÂwere far off of yesterday's unusual variety and strength.

The usual big gun TP'sÂon 594, 693, 747, 774, 828, 972, 1053Âand 1566 were at fair to good levels at my 1255 start time, but the only Chinese stations in audio were 1323-CRI's Russian service (fair) and 1044-CRI's Japanese service (poor). Increasing daylight around 1320 didn't change propagation much, although the intermittent Chinese on 1044 and 1323 were joined by very anemic signals on 1206 and 1593, and both 603-HLSA and a presumed 738-BEL2 came out of the noise weakly.ÂAround 1330 nothing except the NHK2 big guns on 693, 747 and 774 sounded really healthy except for intermittent potent signals from 972-HLCA and the 1053-Jammer.ÂThe situation didn'tÂchange much until around 1350, when 603-HLSA madeÂa modest rally to reach fair levels with Korean pop music // to a very weak 558.ÂEven the NHK big guns didn't seem very impressed with the situation by 1400,Âby which timeÂall of the TP signals had started their terminal plunge. Overall the session was pretty mediocre, but it's easy to get spoiled afterÂenjoying propagation like yesterday's Chinese-dominated conditions.

603Â HLSAÂÂ Namyang, S. KoreaÂÂ Korean pop music at a fair level hosted byÂKBS2's deep-voiced male at 1353; no trace ofÂthe usual Chinese co-channel
