[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 9-27

Despite Colin's negative report this morning's session did have some interesting moments, including some unusually good signals from the middle band Japanese. OverallÂAsian propagationÂdid suffer a major drop off in comparison to yesterday, but 1134-JOQR had its best signal of the season hereÂlate around 1340.

Early on around 1250 only the usual regular 1566-HLAZ had much energy, with good signals at the beginning of the Japanese program. Other Asians were very slow to come out of the noise, with the NHK big guns on 594 and 693 finally managing fair peaks around 1315, and 1503-JOUK reaching a poorÂto fair level at 1320. 1566-HLAZ continued to be the only vibrant Asian until around 1335, when the relatively obscure station 1134-JOQR began a pretty impressive run to rise above the Vancouver splatter for about 5 minutes. Reaching fair to good peaks at times, the female announcer's hyper-level Japanese speech cut through the CKWX splatter quite well, reaching its best level of the new season (1134 is usually dominated by KBS here). 1053-JOAR also made a fair appearance in the Jammer's shadow, hitting equal strength at times. Late on around 1345 both 603-HLSA and 738-BEL2 reached threshold levels, but neither signal went anywhere since the band quickly collapsed. Except for the middle-band Japanese signals the session was pretty much of a clunker, butÂprobably typical for late September in a lean solar year.
