For the most part, today's TP DX was noticeably worse than yesterday's.
The lower part of the dial was especially lethargic, except for 774 and
594 which had brief moments of glory. There were a few tantalizing
carriers on the high end at sunrise. Some of them teased me with slight
bits of audio. Otherwise, it was a mediocre morning.
Good - A native speaker could understand most of it, at least for brief
periods
774 JOUB, time pips & weather 1300, otherwise mostly fair-nil today
972 HLCA, good 1240-1320 at times with Korean conversations and
music. Virtually inaudible after about 1335
Fair - A native speaker could recognize words and phrases
594 JOAK, 1450 man talking to woman or child, otherwise poor-nil today
1566 HLAZ, weaker than normal today, Chinese announcements 1459
1575 VOA, Asian talk 1502 briefly fair, otherwise poor-nil
Poor - A native speaker would scratch their head and ask "why bother?"
693 JOAB language lesson 1448
747 JOIB, weather //774 1509
981 Talk poor in 980 splat 1218
1377 very faint talk 1446
1422 Male talk 1431
1449 single long tone at ToH 1500, possibly HBC relay. 1287 was
covered by noise so couldn't check for //
1503 JOUK, man in Japanese 1455, time pips 1500
1593 CNR1, 1408 occasional syllables making it through the 1590 splatter
1602 NHK2, talk, recognizably Japanese 1447, 3+1 pips 1500
Carriers 828 837 1035 1188 1404 1476 1494 1557
