Hello All,
The low band Asians had one of their best sessions of the year so far this morning, with the Asian mainland stations unusually vibrant.
As the session began at 1435 both 558-HLQH and its parallel 603-HLSA were at a fair level, with HLSA going on an S9 romp around 1450 (joined by its Chinese co-channel, presumably Hulun Buir). Prior to the 1500 TOH the Asian mainland stations 639-CNR1, 648-VOR and 657-Pyongyang also had fair audio in and out, with 657-Pyongyang joined by its Chinese co-channel (Henan?) on peaks. A presumed 738-BEL2 also had intermittent audio with music at this time, and the NHK big guns on 594, 747 and 828 were doing well. Although 972-HLCA and 1134-KBS had good audio in and out prior to 1500, the high band Asians apparently didn't share in the enhanced propagation early on, with only 1566-HLAZ having fair signals. As sunlight increased after 1500 the low band Asians started to lose some of their energy, with 603-HLSA and 639-CNR1 the steadiest of the bunch until around 1515, when even they started to bail. The high Band Asians never really amounted to much this morning, with only poor audio!
from 1503-JOUK (at 1505), fair-good audio from 1566-HLAZ (1510) and fair audio from 1575-VOA (at 1512). Overall it was an interesting session because of the vibrant low band signals, and a welcome change from the usual high band propagation advantage.
