Conditions were mixed today.
HLAZ was huge. A couple of Alaskans were heard. Most of the low end
NHK stations were either weak or missing.
Local KGNW-820 was off 1213-1438, leaving and returning in
mid-sentence. I had a weak carrier from presumed North Korea on 819,
but the audio was imaginary at best. JOBB-828 was without QRM for a
change.
Here's what the SDR captured while I slept in.
Good - mostly understandable by a native speaker
890 KBBI, presumed, BBC program briefly atop CJDC 1211
1566 HLAZ, loud at times 1220-1406 with the usual Japanese program
until 1345, then Chinese
Fair - some of it understandable, at least briefly, by a native
speaker who tried hard enough
828 JOBB, time pips 1300, then weather report, thanks to KGNW being
off. Lost in the noise by 1304.
850 KICY, woman with ID 1400 mixing with KHHO, then start of
religious program
972 HLCA, M&W in Korean 1242
1575 VOA, 1328 music, 1329 English ID. 1330 "This is the Voice of
America in Khmer" ID, VOA jingle, then woman in Khmer
1593 CNR1, 1316-1345, Chinese talk sometimes poking through
KLFE-1590 splatter
Poor - miscellaneous stuff floating around in the ether
774 JOUB, very faint talk & time pips 1200
981 CNR1, rapid Chinese talk in CKNW splatter 1243
1170 KBS, 1300 3+1 pips during 10 second pause in KPUG audio
1422 weak talk in the domestic splatter, JJ-like inflections 1432
1503 JOUK, weak JJ talk 1418-1430
1557 Taiwan, pop tune 1415
1602 NHK time pips 1300 in 1600 splatter
