[IRCA] Mostly Mexican MW DX to Enid OK, October 4-10, 2013

These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also VHF/UHF, sometimes
utility, ham, which may be found in several archives without much delay, such as

http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxldmid.html

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open access:
http://forums.wtfda.org/showthread.php?6543-MW-DX-from-Enid-OK-by-Glenn-Hauser/page15

All times and dates strictly UT. Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only; or Sony SRF-59 as specified; Nissan
stock caradio as specified; FRG-7 with E-W longwire as specified

** MEXICO. 560, Oct 9 at 1200 UT, super-hype voice actor (SHVA) with full ID for XESRD, preceded and followed by gobierno PSAs. Cantú:
560 XESRD La Tremenda +FM 89.3 Santiago Papasquiaro, Dgo. 10,000 1,000
Also CCI from another XE further to the east/south, but nothing from El Norte (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 610 & 650, Oct 4 at 1203 UT, same Spanish newscast // and synchronized, stronger on 650, i.e. XETNT Los Mochis, and XEGS 610 Guasave, Sinaloas (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 660, Oct 4 at 1203 UT, ``Hotel California``, then live DJ/newscaster with 6:05 TC at 1205 UT en ``La Lupe`, béisbol scores, so a little of everything, from:
660 XEACB La Lupe + FM 98.9 Cd. Delicias, Chih. 3,000 1,000
as in Cantú (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 700, Oct 9 at 1223 UT, adstring mentioning Parral, 1225 dead air with hum slightly growing, which lasts until it finally comes to life again at 1231.5 with more ads, starting to fade; 1234 live announcer discussing béisbol, timecheck, mentions an FM on .3; Cantú:
700 XEGD La Poderosa + FM 90.3 Hidalgo del Parral, Chih. 5,000 1,000
and no doubt the same station as logged several times before on 700 with hummy dead air (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 760, Oct 10 at 1201 UT, YL with headlines in Spanish interspersed with rapid beats of single-tone sounders; 1203 over to OM with more detailed news including murders in BCS. Loops N/S and probably from 70/10 kW XEABC in the DF, altho there are three others in that general direxion (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 770, Oct 7 at 1227 UT, gobierno federal promo for La Hora Nacional Sunday at 10 pm (same heard on some other station this morning), ad for internet provider totalplay.mx and 1228 jingle for Los 40 Principales, Sinaloa state government PSA. So it`s per Cantú:
770 XEREV Los 40 Principales + FM 104.3 Los Mochis, Sin. 5,000 100
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 820, Oct 7 at 1236 UT, WBAP in a fade so no problem hearing Spanish political commentary mainly about events in Washington looping WSW; then WBAP resurges. Recently IDed XEABCA here, but there is another possibility from the Los Mochis hotspot; Cantú:
820 XEABCA Radio Frontera Mexicali, B.C. 3,500 500
820 XEUDO Radio UdeO (Univ de Occidente) + FM 89.3 Los Mochis, Sin. 1,000 250
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 850, Oct 7 at 1220 UT, timecheck for 7:20, Milenio Radio program promos mentioning 103.7, Chihuahua, easy with KOA nulled. So it has to be XEM again, but the time there is CST = 6:20! Maybe just a mistake, or cut from DF feed and timezone to local items. Cantú:
850 XEM Milenio Radio + FM 103.7 Chihuahua, Chih. 5,000 500
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 980, Oct 9 at 1215 UT, competing with KMBZ, I hear ``radio Rosita`` mentioned, tho unlikely a station name, points to XENR in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila. Strangely, Cantú locates it in a nearby town:
980 XENR Radio 980 Melchor Múzquiz, Coah. 5,000 500
[Cantú is unreliable for accents; I had to add the ú as per maps]
But IRCA Mexican Log 2012 and WRTH 2013 put it in Nueva Rosita. At least they all agree on the powers. Another town nearby is Sabinas (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1100, Oct 7 at 1202 UT, M&W with lo-key news in Spanish, loops WSW/ENE; 1207 losing to QRMusic. I don`t get much weak-signal DX on 1100 due to a birdie in the DX-398. Looks like one of only two in N/W XE-land, per Cantú:
1100 XEBAC Radio Asunción + FM 95.7 Bahía Asunción, B.C.S. 1,000 D
1100 XENAS Única + FM 95.5 Navojoa, Son. 1,000 500
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1180, Oct 4 at 1212 UT, Spanish music from southwest, have to minimize IBOC noise from evil KFAQ 1170 Tulsa; ``éxitos --- Ke Buena ``. Music really hyper; we`re awake now; likewise the SHVA announcing; 1215 lotería PSA, 1216 adds Chihuahua to Ke Buena, so:
1180 XEJK Ke buena + FM 95.3 Cd. Delicias, Chih. 5,000 1,500
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1550, Oct 6 at 1107 UT, ``La Rancherita 15-50`` ID overtaking KAPE Girardeau. Of only 4 XEs on 1550, Cantú shows it`s:
1550 XENU La Rancherita Nuevo Laredo, Tamps. 5,000 250
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 2910, Oct 6 at 1055 UT very poor signal with music, no doubt persistent third harmonic of 970 XEVT, Villahermosa, Tabasco. Still audible at 1146 with music, then talk. Terry Krueger in FL recently logged this too (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific carrier search Oct 8 at 1231 finds only 774, likely Japan, and at 1234 UT, 1053 kHz, likely S Korean jammer. (Also still something on 541 like last evening which I conclude must be of local origin) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 738, Oct 6 at 1152 UT, JBA carrier loops E-W, apropos for Tahiti, while no other TP carriers found from NW, nor a few later chex on the prime spots from Japan, 747, 774 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 880, Oct 6 at 1135 UT, romantic music with repetitive lyric, ``El Amor``, making fast SAH with KRVN. As I try to null one or the other, this one is from the SSE or the SE. There are no Mexicans in Yucatán or QR, further east than Veracruz or Tabasco, so suspect R. Progreso`s 12 kW outlet in the western tip of Cuba at Mantua, Pinar del Río. Unfortunately there`s no SW // to compare, as the new 4765 runs only from 0030 to 0400. Sunrise time fits: in PdR today 1128 UT per Gaisma.com which claims Cuba is not on DST now, but UT -5. Timeanddate.com however reaffirms that DST in Cuba lasts until November 3; coinciding with Yankee Imperialism (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1521, Oct 7 at 0107 UT, lite het upon 1520 KOKC, probably Saudi Arabia; no other TA carrier frequencies detectable (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
