[IRCA] TP's for Sunday 12/18/11

After reading Bill's report I started listening on the higher channels first.
Much better than the lower channels, 3 lower channel powerhouse stations
were heard.  Three Chinese stations logged and a couple unknown stations
too.  A few more days of zero on the A & K Solar Indices would be nice.
HLAZ 1566 was heard on the Eton e100 outside while filling the bird feeders
around 1600 utc.  Reception was poor at best.  1604 utc and HLAZ & VOA
still have decent signals.

594        JAPAN, JOAK NHK 1 1534 very weak signal with man in Japanese.
603        REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLSA 1536 weak signal with music.
774        JAPAN, JOUB 1532 weak signal with woman in Japanese.
1044      CHINA, CRI 1529 weak to fair signal at times.  Japanese.
but heavy domestic splatter made reception difficult.
1098      UNKNOWN, 1526 Asian station with poor signal.
1116      CHINA, 1522 believed to be the station with weak signal and talk.
1503      JAPAN, JOUK NHK 1 1540-1541 weak signal with Japanese talk.
1566      REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1512 good signal with man in Chinese.
              + Still good at 1538.
1575      THAILAND, VOA 1513 fair signal with man in Asian language.
              + Excellent signal at 1537.
+ UNKNOWN station underneath VOA at 1514 with weak signal and music.
1593      CHINA, CRN 1 1515 fair signal at times with man in Chinese.  Moderate
              KOHI splatter.

Best regards,
