Re: [IRCA] Bruce Williams retires March 5, 2010

My version of that song went tune out, turn off talknet. It's boring.

Remember that creepy theme song?

"Someone to talk to
Someone to care
Someone you know
Who will always be there
Tune in
Turn on
Talknet
We care"

I always knew the "callers" (all sounding between 25 and 54, natch) were prescreened and heavily coached: no nutjobs, ramblers, etc. They would articulately and promptly state their case, and then all-wise Bruce would advise them what to do.

NBC Talknet was in the vanguard of turning AM radio into what it is today, imho.
