Unlike Dennis, I was rather impressed with what I heard. I have to break it into 2 sessions. I didn't start until 13:16 (although the faithful Perseus was at it from 12:58). Between 13:16 and 13:41, I band scanned from 531 up to 1701 using my "W" wire exclusively (334 deg), and from 13:42 to PAST 14:00! I used either my ALA 100 or S wire (244 deg). I found plenty of good audio on the bottom half of the band. "Early" indicates Asian reception...ie CC, KK, or JJ while "late" will indicate DU reception. "6" unless otherwise noted:

531 (late)
558: 7 early
567: 8 early, 7 late (to explain further, this indicates 2 different stations with an Asian station early, and DU later...got the picture?)
576: 7 early, 9 late (ABC at 13:46)
585: 7 both early and late
594: 8 early (NHK1), and 6 late
603: 9 early
612: 9 late (Brisbane). Still an 8 at 14:03!
621: 6 (seeing 2 carriers on Perseus: 621 and 620.908) early
639: 7 early 6 late
657, 666: early
702: 6 early, 7 late
711: 7 early
720: N. Korean easily visible on Perseus early
738: CC early at 8, 2NR Grafton 8 at 13:51 (late)
747: JJ early at 8
756: 7 early (music) and 6 late
765: 6 early
774: 9 early JJ, 7 late
783: 6 early
792: 8 early KK, 8 late (Brisbane)
801, 819: early
828: JJ at 9 early
837: 7 early
846
855: N. Korea at 7.5 early
873: JJ at 8 early
891: 7 early, 7 late (4TAB?). This alone indicates good conditions as usually 891 is wiped out by my local (only a few km from me and aimed right at me) Village 900.
963: 9 early with CC programming (not the CRI RR) and cochannel music, 6 late
972: As close to a perfect 10 as possible with KK chanting (heard the same yesterday, I think)
1008: 8 with music early
1017, 1026, 1044: all early
1053: KK talk >> jamming at 13:34 (early) at 7
1143: 7 early
1161: early at 6, late at 6 (?NZ)
1170: CC cochannel KPUG at 7 early (13:37)
1188: early
1278: 7 early
1287: 7 early
1314: early
1322: just the faintest of carriers for Guy's mystery station at 13:38
1440: JJ at 8 early (13:40)
1503: 6 early and late (13:59)
1566: 7 early (13:41) with HLAZ
1575: VOA at 7 early (13:41)
1665: 6 level audio from DU late...first time this season
1701: 6 level audio at 14:00 (late) with 3 carriers almost equal strength on Perseus SDR: 1701.006, 1701.031, and 1701.048.

Overall, then, a very decent morning. Will look forward to hearing how John Bryant, and perhaps Colin did this morning! .....Walt
