[IRCA] 9/13 TP DX
9/13 was an excellent morning in Seattle. As usual, the SDR recorded
chunks of the band 1155-1335 while I slept, and I had lots of fun
playing back the files.
Koreans were exceptionally good,including 657, 738, 756, 1053, 1134, and
1170, the latter briefly topping KPUG.
Highlights of the morning include:
612 UNID, 1307 weak YL talk, inflections sounded more like EE than JJ
639 CHINA, CC talk fair 1304
650 ALASKA, KENI Anchorage, legal ID 1300, then ABC news u/CISL
657 N KOREA, 1256 good carrier, shallow modulation, KK talk
693 JAPAN, JOAB, poor //747 1311
738 S KOREA, HLKG weak 1300 w/3+1 pips into YL talk, much better
1305 w/YL in KK //756
747 JAPAN, JOIB 3+1 pips good, then YL & OM in JJ, about equal to
KXL-750 by 1305
756 S KOREA, 1305 YL in KK //738 fair
774 JAPAN, JOUB, fair JJ talk //747 1301
828 JAPAN, JOBB, pips & JJ talk fair in splat 1200
864 UNID, time pips very weak 1200, music 1208 poor, likely Korea
972 S KOREA, good w/KK talk 1213
1044 CHINA, CRI JJ service good w/man in JJ 1327
1053 S KOREA, jammer good 1316 o/JJ talk
1062 UNID audio at times (male talk very weak) 1320-1330
1107 UNID, weak music 1329
1134 KBS good w/pop mx in CKWX splat 1323 o/weak JJ talk, better 1328
w/KK talk
1170 S KOREA, KBS World Radio CC service good o/KPUG 1318 w/woman in
CC, soon faded
1287 JAPAN, presumed w/weak audio 1216
1475 SABAH, carrier during lull in domestic splatter 1239, maybe
producing audio 1249
1566 S KOREA, good carrier, fair talk 1240
It looks like the season is now well under way
