[IRCA] TP for 24 Nov from Victoria, BC--

Started listening earlier this morning 1445UT, wasn't too impressed, took a break at 1510 and returned at 1520, then through to 1600. The sunrise lift seems to be around 1530UT, and this morning was concentrated on the upper band. Again, most of the barely there audios made only brief appearances, so the list below looks more impressive than it actually was. The NHK2 stations were fairly anemic, though they had their moments, but really hit the skids after 1500. 774 was barely audible at s/off at 1600UT.

pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):

774 JOUB
828 JOBB
972 HLCA, surprisingly strong at times

reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):

558 just mx at 1451, no way to identify
567 JOIK //594
594 JOAK
648 likely Russia, but just mx at the time
1206 man talking, likely CRI, very rough copy. Is this one jammed, or is KEX's IBOC doing the dirty work? Usually the Flag wipes out KEX pretty well.
1503 JOUK//567 at 1550UT

1566 as usual, didn't really start to deliver audio until 1530UT though good strength carrier most of morning. BUT, at 1541UT, there were two stations, and HLAZ was often losing. The other one was off channel, and sounded like Tagalog talk. HLAZ was easily identifiable by the distinctive laughter of one of the women doing the announcing on this program, it's a bit of a trademark for me, because she laughs quite a bit (a cheery way to start the day). By 1549 there were quiet chimes that I don't think were from HLAZ. Of course, the unID was not there by 1600UT. Its exact frequency seemed to be 1566.0263 kHz, so quite distinctive and a definite growl away from HLAZ's 1566.0023kHz. Any suggestions? There are a couple of Filipinos listed, but the wonderfully named DXID is supposed to be off at 1400UT. DZHH supposed to be off at 1600UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:

189 R. Rossii
639 CNR1//5030
747 JOIB; really not delivering this morning
1134 man talking not //972 so likely JOQR
1314 at 1529UT w/ mx
1332 also mx about 1530
1377 CNR1//5030
1386 NHK2//774 at 1533UT
1512 NHK2...just a few notes of the s/off chimes at 1603UT.
1575 likely Thailand

Burbles in the splatter and noise (the bulk of these snagged at sunrise lift around 1530UT):
153
279
603
873 JOGB//774
954
963
981, couldn't snag CNR1 parallel, so ?
1098
1224
1242
1269
1278
1287
1305
1323
1368
1404 buried in hum mostly
1422
1494
1584 hum and possibly NHK1

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 657 hum, 999 hum, 1143, 1251, 1413

best wishes,

Nick
