Re: [IRCA] UnID 1590

Radio Trafico is XEVOZ, México, D.F., with relatively new format that began this fall. It had been Radio Reloj from January 2005 until this fall, and before that, for many years, it was "Bonita," the classical mariachi music format that Radio ACIR still programs for some stations in México. This station has been heard here in North Texas in both earlier incarnations, but is stronger and more consistent since it began the Radio Trafico programming.

Ironically, when Grupo ACIR went to the Radio Reloj format, similar to the Cuban Net., IMER, the government agency that owns several stations in Mexico, returned XEQK-1350 to a classic format that served for decades, both on 1350 and on shortwave, 9.555, "La Hora Exacta." IMER moved the Las Ciudades, a public service related information format, from XEQK to XEDTL-660, which has gone through several format changes since I've been following the Mexican BCB since 2001.

The September MPM, the Mexican equivalent of Standard Rates and Data Service, still shows XEVOZ as Radio Reloj, but Fred Cantu's website http://www.mexicoradiotv.com/index.html<http://www.mexicoradiotv.com/index.html> has the newest slogan, plus a link to the Radio Trafico website, http://www.grupoacir.com.mx/rtt/<http://www.grupoacir.com.mx/rtt/>.
