Received my new catalog from DX Engineering Inc. today. It
contains
the new "Noise Cancelling Controller", model no. DXE-NCC-1.
Listed (impressive) specs include:
Very flat gain across the complete phase rotation, typically
+/- 1dB.
Output third order intercept is +32dBm each channel, and
+38dBm
combined, which is 45dB better than the nearest competitor.
(This means it can handle very strong signals without
overload--critical for
good performance on MW)
Frequency range is 200khz to 30mhz, making it very suitable
for use on the AM band.
30dB of fixed attenuation in 10dB steps for each antenna, plus
15dB of variable attenuation
to help balance the signals for maximum nulls. By comparison,
my Quantum Phaser
has excellent variable attenuation, but nothing fixed.
Sometimes when using an active
whip with a low output antenna like one of my bogs, this would
be very useful.
The price is an ouch, at $425.00---but I might have to bite
the bullet.
This fine company also makes a host of products that are
perfect for those building high
performance antennas like beverages, BOGS, EWE's, K9AY, etc.
These include
things like receive preamplifiers, reversible beverage antenna
controls, receive feedline
chokes, etc. All are rated from LF to HF, with no attenuation
of the AM band which
is common on most other products geared for radio amateurs.
Not affiliated in any way, just a happy customer. Check them
out.
