Re: [IRCA] Split SuperLoop variant



This is what's fun about the empirical world.  I'll set this up as
planned.check F/B and then record while moving the separation from "0" to 3
feet, and let you know what I learn.

Interesting, but I:m not sure if it is a good idea or not.

 

Bad side: the two halves of the loop are not exactly in the same plane.

Good side: the wires never kiss in the middle.

 

Which is more important? Who knows?

My EZNEC model (and KAZ's also I think) assumes their is no kissing of the
wires in the middle. I did this by making the upper left and lower right
junctions be half a foot in front of the upper right and lower left
junctions. 

I was trying to figure out KAZ's center mast arrangement to see how far
apart he kept the wires and how he did it.

runs should be a certain distance apart...and kiss only momentarily at a
crossover point?

Not clear to me how the cable ties are done.

My masts have small eyelets that are not big enough for 2 cable ties. Yours
are big enough?

And if the cable ties are tight, wouldn't the wires be flat against the very
narrow top of the mast rather than being an inch or two apart?

My center down runs are perpendicular. I use the same type of windsock pole
with the small center ring at the top. Two large cable ties each create a
loop to run the two wires thru and when tight they are an inch or two apart
and come down the sides of the mast. Maybe something can be done in practice
to improve performance with down run spacing? But it models fine.

My only other experience with // down runs was when I built a Split Delta
Flag years ago and down runs were on each side of the supporting tree's
truck about 4 to 5" apart.
